Delicias del Sur

The diverse menu and balance of savory and sweet breakfast options will bring us back for more! Looking forward to visiting on a Fri/Sat night for the Cuban speakeasy! What a clean, bright, and hospitable environment! Well done.

We had the best time there. We tried a caramel latte (which was very good), a “fresas con crema” crepe and a “delicias del sur crepe” they were incredible, very fresh and definitely filling. Everybody working there was so nice and willing to help with questions and recommend good food. (Special mention to Lizbeth there who was so kind to us!) We can’t wait to be back Viva Delicias del Sur!

If you’ve Google’d Lawrence restaurants and have come upon this review for Delicias del Sur, look no further! Don’t hesitate, just go! My family LOVES Delicias del Sur! This place is a new Lawrence treasure that must be preserved! The food is INCREDIBLE!! My favorite are the arepas, all the dulce de leche pastries and cakes, and the wonderful coffee! They have the kind of menu that is difficult to choose from because everything sounds so enticing, fresh, and delicious. They offer a variety of giant savory or sweet crepes, arepas, empanadas, and quite a few other unique items you won’t find on their website. They have a few items like biscuits and gravy for those who aren’t feeling international cuisine, my 3-year-old loves their kids offerings, and everything in the desert case is to die for. I’m still trying to work my way through every item in there! I did notice quite a few options for vegetarians as well, so I’d say they have something for everybody here. The owners and their employees are so welcoming, warm and friendly. We’ve had Lizbeth as our server on a few occasions, and she is so nice. We enjoy talking to everyone at Delicias. You will wonder if everybody there is family; it feels like home. They have an area to watch soccer games upstairs and a speak easy downstairs that we haven’t been able to see yet, but we hope to someday! Do yourself a favor and go support this local business while making your tummy as happy as it can be!

Food was so delicious and reasonably priced for the portions! I had a yummy mocha and the chorizo omelet (so flavorful!) with potatoes. My boyfriend had the Caracas egg Benedict. Service was excellent, our waitress was attentive but not overbearing. We both really enjoyed our food and will be back to try more of the menu!

Absolutely loved this restaurant! From the wait staff Jelly to Raul the bartender. The food and drinks were amazing! A little birdie mentioned a Speakeasy opening up soon with a unique drink menu. Can’t wait to go back!

I hadn't seen this Latin restaurant in Lawrence before. I'm glad that I decided to try it. I had the pork belly potato appetizer, and the Cuban. I feel that the appetizer was a little expensive since there were only 3 pieces of pork belly and 3 potato pieces. But it was good. Some really good dessert options as well!

Held a milestone birthday party for roughly 25 people in their upstairs room. Beautiful room and decorations, great food, great service. The whole ownership and staff was so accommodating throughout the planning process up to the surprise party. Did I mention the food was great! Beef empanadas were so good! Tequenos and tostones were so tasty. You have to have the sangria. It was a smash. I will definitely hold future events here and recommend anyone I know to hold their events here. Couldn’t have been a better hit, all aspects were superb!

We had a wonderful experience at Delicias Del Sur. My husband and I visited a while ago and really enjoyed our time with Raul, the bartender/server, Jelly and Jayden. They all helped us from answering questions to making recommendations and general knowledge about the restaurant, menu and its origins. The restaurant has a nice and bright interior as well as outside patio seating. We arrived in time for their daily Happy hour which is 50% off drinks plus you get free tapas. This is one of the BEST Happy Hours in town, with hh lasting until 6pm daily and the GENEROUS 50% off is unbeatable!!!. My favorite free tapas was the plantain chips! For the libations I had the gorgeous and delightful “Traffic light” and a tasty Caipiroska and my husband an Old Fashioned or 2. All were very flavorful. We also sampled a number of Tapas; Sampler, Cuban croquettes, Coxinha and Chili Brussel Sprouts. This was fun tasting dishes from around the world, Im not sure what my favorite app was but we enjoyed every mouthwatering bite that was on our plates. And for desert I had maracuyá pie (passion fruit) and it was devine. You must give this place a try, they are open for breakfast, happy hour, dinner there’s a time to fit everyones schedule. If you are adventurous ask them about the SPEAKEASY!!!!! I highly recommend!!
